Presented by Waste Connections\, this year’s parade celebrates both America250 and five decades of South County tradition. \nWe are excited to invite our incredible volunteers to walk alongside Henry’s Home as we proudly represent our mission of serving Veterans\, Retired First Responders\, and their families. Together\, we’ll celebrate the values of service\, freedom\, community\, and hope that have shaped our nation for 250 years. \nOur 2026 parade theme\, “America250\,” honors the courage\, vision\, and enduring ideals that continue to inspire generations of Americans. As part of this special celebration\, volunteers will help showcase the heart of Henry’s Home while joining thousands of community members in one of The Woodlands’ most beloved Independence Day traditions. \nThe festivities begin with pre-parade entertainment at 8:00 a.m.\, followed by the stirring Rolling Thunder cannon salute\, which officially launches the parade at 9:00 a.m. This year’s celebration also features a rare live bald eagle appearance\, presented by Last Chance Forever – The Bird of Prey Conservancy\, offering a memorable tribute to America’s 250th anniversary. \nWe invite all Henry’s Home volunteers to join us as we celebrate our nation’s history\, honor those who have served\, and share the spirit of our sanctuary with the community. Parent and child teams unite to support the care of our rescued horses while helping maintain the beauty and functionality of our sanctuary grounds. \nVolunteer Activities \nVolunteers with Henry’s Home Sanctuary will engage in meaningful hands-on work supporting our rescued horses and maintaining the property. \nActivities may include: \n\nLandscaping and grounds maintenance\nSpecial improvement projects\nStall cleaning and pasture care\nEssential equine chores and horse-related tasks\n\nAll efforts contribute to creating a safe\, nurturing environment for our animals while providing volunteers the opportunity to experience the powerful connection between horses and humans. \nNo experience is necessary — guidance\, instruction\, and supplies will be provided. \nOur Mission: Together\, We Heal \nAt Henry’s Home\, we provide a sanctuary where horses and humans can find healing\, connection\, and purpose. DESCRIPTION:This event provides an opportunity for the community to volunteer at Henry’s Home Horse & Human Sanctuary. Whether you are a regular volunteer or a parent with children over the age of 13\, we welcome your participation in completing meaningful projects. The general community is also invited to join and contribute to current Garden Club initiatives\, such as building and maintaining the Gratitude Garden\, enhancing landscapes\, and supporting the production of fresh produce for our veterans and retired first responders. \nYour efforts will help create a safe\, productive environment and a sense of community and achievement. All participants must complete the required waiver(s) and adhere to the sanctuary’s dress code requirements prior to participating.
