“Some of the commentary that I’ve heard from our veterans is, ‘I’ll be here till the day I die,’” said Darlene Gagnon, interim CEO of Henry’s Home Horse & Human Sanctuary. “I’ve heard women veterans tell me, ‘You gave me my life back.’ I’ve heard their children tell me, ‘You gave me my mom back.’”
We’re thrilled to share that our one-of-a-kind sanctuary has been featured in Community Impact. Known for our equine-assisted programs, we specialize in offering veterans and retired first responders a safe space for emotional healing, confidence-building, and connection—because here, it’s not just about the horses; it’s about finding life-changing breakthroughs.
Through groundwork programs, we help veterans and retired first responders tap into the incredible therapeutic bond between humans and horses. Imagine easing anxiety, rebuilding trust, and rediscovering joy—all while working side by side with these majestic animals. One veteran summed it up perfectly, saying, “You gave me my life back.”
