Each horse that graces our sanctuary brings with them a unique journey. From spirited stallions who were once heroes on the racing track to gentle mares who have experienced the weight of the world, their stories are as diverse as they are inspiring. Through them, we embark on a journey of healing and love that serves our Veterans & Retired First Responders.

Once an energetic fox hunter, Big John’s journey took a poignant turn when his previous owner, upon learning of his cancer diagnosis, left him behind. Thankfully, he was rescued and welcomed into the loving care of Henry’s from TMR Rescue.

Once a skilled jumper, Charlie faced a turning point when his family, struggling financially, sought help from Henry’s. Unable to sell him due to fears about his temperament, they found a safe haven for him here.

Previously known as the “Raging Duff,” he was passed around after retiring from racing. He is the grandson of the famous racehorse, Secretariat. Now, he’s embarking on a new journey with us.

Henry, once among the worst starvation cases seen by the SPCA, needed a sling to stand. Despite this, his gentle spirit shone through as he followed Founder, Donna during her visit. Initially there to rescue Lexi, Founder, Donna couldn’t resist Henry’s charm and adopted both. Now thriving at Henry’s Home, his journey is a testament to resilience and second chances.

Meet our ex-show horse, a proud descendant of the esteemed Winston, his great-great-grandfather. After being surrendered, he now finds a new beginning with us.

She is Precious’ mother. Jojo was owned by TMR Rescue and found a special place at Henry’s, thanks to a dedicated volunteer sponsor. She lovingly requested that they be brought to Henry’s, where they continued to reside even after she sadly passed away from cancer.

Once destined for auction after a jumper barn struggled to handle him, this horse’s journey took a challenging turn. Though adopted, he still faced abuse until Founder, Donna stepped in, persuading his owners to sell him to her. Now safe and cherished, his story is one of hope and redemption.

Rescued from starvation by the constable’s office, this remarkable registered paint was adopted by Founder, Donna from the SPCA. An animal communicator noted him as the oldest soul ever encountered.

Discovered wandering through a neighborhood, this adventurous horse found temporary refuge in a kind woman’s backyard. She soon reached out to Donna, ensuring he found a safe and caring home.
