This specialized training session is designed for qualified volunteers committed to advancing the mission of Henry’s Home Horse & Human Sanctuary by facilitating Self-Care Saturday and Veteran Equine Group Sessions. The program equips participants with a comprehensive understanding of the therapeutic frameworks underpinning these initiatives, including equine-assisted learning principles and HeartMath® methodologies for promoting heart coherence, emotional regulation, and trauma-informed healing.
Participants will engage in an in-depth examination of program objectives, performance expectations, and the requisite standards for volunteer involvement. Key areas of focus include advanced participant engagement strategies, rigorous safety protocols, risk management, ethical boundaries, and professional conduct essential to maintaining a secure, respectful, and transformative environment for veterans, first responders, and their families.
Upon completion, volunteers will possess the refined knowledge, practical competencies, and strategic insight necessary to deliver high-impact support, contribute meaningfully to measurable participant outcomes, and uphold the sanctuary’s standards of excellence in equine-human connection and veteran wellness programs.
Who Can Attend:This training is restricted to approved and fully certified Henry’s Home Program Volunteers who have successfully completed prerequisite orientation and background verification processes.
