Following check-in at 9:30 AM, volunteers will work in small groups at various service stations for approximately 1.5 hours. These activities offer an opportunity to learn about the importance of compassion, responsibility, and teamwork while supporting the daily care of our sanctuary.
The morning will conclude with a special opportunity to hear a Veteran share their personal story, offering participants a meaningful perspective on service, resilience, and the importance of supporting those who have served our country.
What to Bring & WearTo ensure a comfortable and enjoyable volunteer experience, participants are encouraged to:
- Wear comfortable, weather-appropriate clothing suitable for outdoor activities.
- Wear closed-toe shoes or boots appropriate for working around horses and on sanctuary grounds.
- Bring a water bottle to stay hydrated throughout the morning.
Important: Students under 18 must have a parent or guardian complete the required waiver before participating.
We are grateful to Encuentro Woodlands for choosing to spend this special morning with us. Your willingness to serve helps us provide a safe, caring home for our rescued horses while supporting our mission of creating meaningful horse-human connections for Veterans, Retired First Responders, and their families.
We look forward to welcoming the Encuentro Woodlands community to Henry’s Home for a wonderful morning of service, learning, and connection!
